MORPCA & IRAC
Autocross
Enjoy driving your Porsche at its limits. Autocrossing is a safe way to drive your Porsche at, and beyond the cars and drivers limits. Typically held in large open paved areas, such as parking lots and airports, an autocross course is a very technical and twisty layout of soft pylon cones. Cars maneuver through the course one at a time and are timed to determine the quickest driver. It is a great way to enhance your driving skills while enjoying competing with fellow Porsche owners. The Porsche Club Regions from Western Pennsylvania to Indiana have joined together and developed a competition autocross series known as IRAC (Inter Regional Autocross Championship). Each of the participating regions hosts at least one autocross event and, at the end of the autocross season, championship trophies are awarded to the top finishers in each class. Class trophies are awarded at each event as well. The IRAC events are a great opportunity to compete against Porsches similar to your own, and to socialize with a fantastic group of people the day and/or night before the event, or after competition ends. Schedules, results, and applications for all the upcoming events will be posted to this web page as they become available. If you are interested in finding out what an autocross is like, the IRAC series offers a novice class where the focus is on teaching the basics of autocrossing. Many IRAC regions also sponsor autocross driving schools, where the techniques of autocrossing can be practiced in a non-competitive atmosphere. Watch your region's newsletter or this page for details.
