MidOhio Sports Car Course – Club Race Sept 12-14, 2014
Driver Education at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on September 12 – 14, 2014. This will be a three-day event with practice and fun races on Friday, two Sprint Races on Saturday, and a 90 minute Enduro on Sunday.
Widely known as one of the most competitive in the U.S., Mid-Ohio is a permanent road course with a 2.4 mile, 15-turn configuration. Among the track’s signature turns are the Keyhole, the Esses (Madness), Thunder Valley, and the Carousel. The historic circuit has been home to all the noteworthy road racing series for over 50 years, including Can-Am, American Le Mans series, Formula 5000, IMSA GT, Trans-Am, Champ Car, and the Indy series. You will find the Mid-Ohio track to be technical and fun. You will not be disappointed.
An advanced three-day driver education (DE) will run in conjunction with the club race. Drivers will run solo with expanded passing. However, our experienced and advanced instructors will be available for those drivers new to Mid-Ohio or for those who want some extra coaching. Dan Clarke, pro Indy Lite racer will provide coaching and track walks for drivers. Additional time purchased to ensure much more time for the DE students this year. The DE students will get over 30% more track time than past years by adding sessions and increasing some session times. You will get almost three full days for the price of two!
Again, this year, we will keep the track open 24 hours per day from 3:00 PM Thursday, September 11th, until 7:00 PM Sunday, September 14th. You can camp free, work on your car, or just relax. Please note, RV campers may be accessed a modest charge by the track. We have both lower and middle paved paddocks for parking.
Hotel headquarters is the Quality Inn & Suites, 1000 Comfort Plaza, Bellville, OH 43813, 419-886-7000, http://www.qualityinnbellville.com . When making your reservation mention “Mid-Ohio Porsche Club” to obtain the negotiated rate of $84. There will be a socializer at the track on Friday (after the track goes cold).
The Saturday evening banquet is free to racers. Additional tickets are available for $30. Children twelve and under eat free. This year the event will be located at Buck’s in downtown Lexington, near the track. We have selected a BBQ menu that includes barbeque pork ribs, citrus herb chicken, and slow roasted beef brisket plus all the trimmings.

We need your help! As always, volunteers are needed to host this successful event. No experience needed, we have lots of positions that only require your commitment be part of it. You can volunteer side by side with experienced members who will provide you with on the job training for the day / weekend position. If you can’t make all 3-days, we can use 1 or 2 day volunteers too. If you have been looking for a chance to get more involved in your club, this is a great way to see your club in action and meet fellow Porsche enthusiasts.
No experience needed, we will train you on the job. You are rewarded with countless new friends, free coffee, donuts, lunches, and evening socializers.
