Are you hungry to win that allusive award? Do you thirst for the prize just out of your reach? Well this year you can vote for your favorite chili or dessert by opening up your wallet, checkbook, or purse. Your Charity Committee is using the Chili Cook-off as a fundraiser for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank this year.

Did you know 49% of the people the Foodbank serves say they had to choose between food and utilities? Another 29% had to choose between food and shelter. For every $1 given to Mid-Ohio Foodbank by donors, they are able to distribute $8 worth of groceries to people in need in 20 central and eastern counties.

Each dollar at the Chili Cook-off represents one vote for your favorite chili or dessert. Feel free to write a check or come with lots of dollars and vote, vote, vote for your favorite chili and/or desert. And, it is tax deductible, but best of all, the donations will go directly to the Foodbank. Trophies will be awarded at the end of the evening.

The Chili Cook-off is always a great event and a good time. Come this year and eat, drink and vote until you’re satisfied, and also you will be supporting a great cause. See you on September 19, at Ron Thomas’s house and garage.
