March Board Meeting

MORPCA Monthly Board Meeting
March 9, 2011
Submitted by Betsy MacDonell, Secretary
Members Present: Bill Slone, Doug Harris, Betsy MacDonell, Andy Trux, Brian Peterson, Mike Stoner, John Brandt, Dave Hayden, Frank Todaro, Jeff Brubaker, Ron Thomas, Gerhard Hillmann, and Craig Smith.
The meeting started in the usual place, King Avenue Five Sports Lounge, and commenced at 6:56pm. John passed around an agenda and started off with Correspondence. Karen Koehler is to have a meeting with a possible local Goodie Store vendor in Columbus on Friday this week. Since the Mid-Ohio Vintage Race this year is featuring Porsche as the marquee, should the club organize something during the weekend? Dave said we have done things in the past including a Porsche Corral parking area, a membership table and those activities satisfied the requirement for a multi-region subsidy. Ron added that PCA has activities at the Grand-Am and the ALMS races so the opportunity for club activity at the track is there. Also, Milton Scott has resigned from Concours Chair so we need a point person for the event. Bill volunteered to contact the track to reserve a spot for a corral for 75 cars. John will ask Todd Vesely if he is interested in the position. Brian is so pumped up with the news of the sponsorship support for our Driving Series and feels that spending some club money at the Vintage Race this summer is a perfect way to generate interest and energy in the club. Andy agreed that the club should be present at the event. Maybe a beer tent where you have to purchase tickets to curb consumption. Gerhard was in favor but had a major date conflict that weekend. The minutes to the February Board meeting were approved with a motion from Frank and a second from Mike. Read More...

MORPCA Monthly Board Meeting
November 4, 2010
Submitted by Betsy MacDonell, Secretary

The meeting was held at the King Avenue Five Sports Lounge and started at 7:02pm. Dave had some correspondence from the American Lung Association accepting our donation of 2K with a letter and plaque. Dave updated the board about the dispute with the Scenic Road Rally people over the P2O Sunday 2010 rally drive. The signed contract (same as in all past events) stated the club would provide 30 entrants and 5 volunteers and only 22 entrants showed up for the event. The company billed $1300 plus $250 for no volunteers and has now turned the bill over to a collection agency. Frank volunteered to see what he could do to remedy the situation. It is clear we will pay for those that participated and will negotiate the remainder and copy Ron Carr, Dave Hayden and PCA National on all correspondence. Read More...
