I finally finished my Porsche diorama. I tried to give extra attention to each and every part of this project. Everything is in 1/24 scale. The building structure and loft are scratch built. The 3 cars are Tamiya kits. The GT3 (painted in the colors of the German flag) was first lowered, and then I added Aoshima 19in Volk Racing wheels. I used Tamiya smoke paint to tint the windows and all the decals used on this kit are from my decal pile. The blue GT2 was a very involved project, I started by cutting the driver's door off and I used the Renaissance resin door and door jam I got from Strada Sports. The hood was then cut out and everything under the hood was scratch built including the fuel cell with Detailmaster braided lines and Model Car Garage provided the photo etch hardware for the fuel cell and Scale Motorsports photo etch hardware was used on the brake rotors. Decals from my decal pile were also used on this model. The 959 was meant to look like it was being restored with newspaper on the windows and primer on repaired panels. To develop my diorama I collected a lot of reference pictures, I drew on my own experiences in various shops and I also added a few of my own ideas. Below is a list of all the parts used in my diorama. All of the parts used came unassembled and unpainted, and almost all are resin.

Alvin Lawrence
