TRG HEADS TO QUEBEC SEEKING SECOND STRAIGHT KONI CHALLENGE WIN

TRG HEADS TO QUEBEC SEEKING SECOND STRAIGHT KONI
CHALLENGE WIN
PETALUMA,
Calif., (August 15, 2007) – Team
TRG goes north of the border in search of their second
GS-Class win when Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series
competitors head to Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada to
contest Round 10 of the 2007 schedule on Sunday, August
19th.
TRG
was the class of the field in mid-July with a dominant
win at Barber Motorsports Park and the northern
California-based team will try for an encore
performance on the tricky 2.521-mile Le Circuit du
Trois-Rivieres street course.
TRG will field four cars for the two-hour race, each being fully capable of claiming the top step on the podium in Victory Lane.
The No. 39 car for TRG is the Carlsen Porsche/DigiTrust Group/Adam’s Polishes entry of Duncan Ende and Grant Maiman. The pair ran several successful early season events for TRG this year, including leading their first race while at Lime Rock. More recently they mixed it up with the leaders all the way to the checkered flag to post a solid fifth-place finish at Watkins Glen. Expect them to run up front.
Driving the No. 40 Carlsen Porsche/CDI/Carrera Design entry for TRG is John Bibbo and Scott Schroeder. This season-long duo has had flashes of speed and brilliance since the beginning, also leading the Lime Rock race for quite some time and posting a Top-10 finish at Mid-Ohio. Bibbo has driven superbly, including in times of adversity, and Schroeder continues to climb the TRG driver professional development ladder.
The third entry is that of July race winners Ted Ballou and Andy Lally in the No. 41 TRG Mitchell Global/Carlsen Porsche 997. Ballou and Lally contend for the win at every venue on the Koni Challenge schedule and they are expected to do the same at Le Circuit du Trois-Rivieres. In addition to the victory at ‘Barber,’ the duo has posted four other top-five finishes, including a pair of second-place results.
The final TRG entry is the No. 42 car with a TBD driver lineup.
TRG anticipates the return to Quebec, not only for a chance at it’s second win of the season, but also to enjoy the very popular ambiance of Trois-Rivieres.
“It’s such a fun place to race because the local people are so passionate about this race,” said Buckler. “And as the drivers always point out, the girls are really pretty too. We’re looking forward to a great event and to polishing up on our French.”
