Porsche was well-represented with 48 beautiful examples of many of the series models. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Chip Vance and Auto Assets for sponsoring our awards this year. As we all know, this is a charity event end every cent raised goes to fund the Arthritis Foundation’s work in our own, local community. Another huge THANK YOU goes to Peter Norman for so capably managing and coordinating the Porsche participation in this year’s event. Floyd Acton Award - William Blake Although Bill Blake has only recently rejoined MORPCA, he has owned his 928 and a 1973 914 for many years, is very active with the 928 group, has been on the Arthritis Foundation Auto Show committee for about a dozen years, and owns an array of cars. For the 2011 show, Bill entered a 1974 Triumph TR6, a 1995 Corvette, a 1966 Mustang Fastback, and the 1983 928S. Bill is an ideal representative of the values that the Floyd Acton Award seeks to honor. Stuttgart/Atlanta – June 30, 2011 -- Porsche returns to Le Mans with a works-run LMP1 sports prototype. The first outing of the completely new developed race car is planned for the year 2014. With 16 overall victories, Porsche is the most successful manufacturer in Le Mans. The most recent win was in 1998 with the Porsche 911 GT1.

Brumos Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Scores Historic Win at the Glen
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. —  June 5 -- Andrew Davis and Leh Keen accomplished something Hurley Haywood could never do — drive Brumos Racing to a class victory in the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen.
The tandem got a huge break late in the six-hour marathon when a caution period allowed Davis to make a quick stop for enough gas to finish the final two laps.
The win was the first for the Jacksonville-based team in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series since it dropped its Daytona Prototype program to concentrate on a GT Class Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. The last Brumos win at the Glen was in 2003, when David Donohue/Mike Bokowski/Scott Goodyear won the race in the DP Brumos Porsche Fabcar.
