Indoor Winter Concours
01/19/11
MORPCA,
Good evening fellow PCA member. Last February proud Porsche owners from several regions of the Porsche Club of America brought over fifty concours quality cars to display at the first annual Indoor Winter Concours held in the beautiful 50,000 square foot facility at Porsche of the Village in Cincinnati. Inspired by the TV commercial, it was labeled "The Porsche Family Tree..." The webmaster for Porsches 2 Oxford, Chris Rieman produced a spectacular production of the show which you can view at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEirgCyKB8o.
You and your fellow MORPCA members are invited to the second annual Indoor Winter Concours Saturday, February 26th, from 5:30 to 9:00. The theme is Porsche's latest hallmark, "Porsche Intelligent Performance". In tune with this we're looking for more competition and performance cars. We'll also decorate the front windows again with as many 356's as we can collect. Are there any 356's, historic or current competition cars, or late model high performance Turbo or GT cars you suggest we invite to the event? You can notify Bruce of your nominations at BHarnish@PorscheoftheVillage.com or (937) 672-9417. Cars can be received as early as Sunday the 20th. Read More...

DESPITE WEATHER, P2O SETS RECORDS
With strong summer storms descending upon Oxford Ohio at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday July 25th, the outlook for a record-setting Porsches2Oxford 2009 seemed bleak. However, before the day was over the sun came out…as did 409 Porsches from nineteen states and Canada – setting a new record for the number of cars to grace the quaint brick streets of uptown Oxford for this annual event hosted by MORPCA.
Brice Kadel, P2O Chairperson said, “The radar at 4:30 a.m. couldn’t have looked a whole lot worse. However, after all the rain at this year’s Immke show, we had come up with a contingency plan for P2O. We understand that the weather kept a lot of folks at home. However, the real story is about those who did attend. We can’t thank enough those who choose to come despite the weather. Without 409 cars full of devoted attendees, it could have been a real disaster.” Read More...

The folks at Mid_-Ohio ,during the Vintage Grand Prix Concour event, awarded the best car club award to the Porsche Coral. Being I was the only one in attendance I accepted this award on the clubs behalf. Thanks to all who attended. There were some beautiful cars. Even the Cab in the rain with the top down. The award was based on the mark with the most cars in attendance.

P2O 2009 Registration Is Open
04/02/09

Dear Mid-Ohio PCA members,
On behalf of Mid-Ohio Region PCA, we are announcing that registration for Porsches2Oxford 2009 will open this Friday (March 27th) at 4:00 p.m. This years event promises to be even bigger and better than in the past – with upwards of 500 cars expected to adorn the quaint brick streets of uptown Oxford Ohio on Saturday July 25th.
The registration fee for this year has been raised from $20 to $25 (per car) – and we are giving that extra $5 to the American Cancer Society. If we do indeed get 500 cars to attend, we will have raised an extra $2500 for the ACS. The $25 per car fee includes an event poster, an event T-shirt, door prize ticket (as we will be awarding more than $3000 in great door prizes), entry into the People’s Choice Car Show, and other ‘goodies’ which make the $25 fee a real bargain for entry into this nationally recognized, ‘casual Porsche party”. The Floyd Acton Award by Andy Trux
At the Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show & Cruise-In, MORPCA presents the Floyd Acton Award to the club member who best represents the ideals of PCA membership. Most of our current members have no idea who Floyd Acton was, so it’s appropriate to provide some details.
March 1976 DOS wrote about Floyd & Thelma Acton: “These two cute people get A+ for enthusiasm! I’ve never seen Thelma without a smile. She’s cute, bright, bouncy and has a marvelous positive attitude … something we could all use more of.
“Floyd is, on the other hand, the quiet, steady albeit always smiling one of the pair – a great combination as I’ve never seen two people have more fun together. Read More...

P2O SET TO ATTRACT RECORD CROWD

PORSCHES2OXFORD SET TO ATTRACT RECORD CROWD
On Saturday July 26th, upwards of 350 shiny Porsches are expected to line the quaint brick streets of uptown Oxford. P2O registrar Marty Reich said, “As of June 10th, we are running more than sixty percent ahead of this same time last year”. Cars are coming from as far away as Florida -- with registrants coming from 17 states and Canada.
Marketed by Mid-Ohio Region Porsche Club as a ‘casual Porsche party’, P2O is celebrating its fourth year in Oxford after two years in Pinckney Michigan. In 2007 more than 250 Porsches attended this nationally recognized event. Co-chairperson Brice Kadel said, “MORPCA has gotten a lot of great publicity in the last year for hosting a great event in a unique venue. The fact that PCA National President Prescott Kelly and his wife Pam are returning again this year for the second time speaks volumes about P2O. The Kelly’s have the opportunity to attend ten PCA events each weekend in the summer and the fact that they are attending P2O two years in a row is a testimonial to what’s been created.” Read More...
