| Brumos Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Scores Historic Win at the Glen WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — June 5 -- Andrew Davis and Leh Keen accomplished something Hurley Haywood could never do — drive Brumos Racing to a class victory in the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen. The tandem got a huge break late in the six-hour marathon when a caution period allowed Davis to make a quick stop for enough gas to finish the final two laps. The win was the first for the Jacksonville-based team in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series since it dropped its Daytona Prototype program to concentrate on a GT Class Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. The last Brumos win at the Glen was in 2003, when David Donohue/Mike Bokowski/Scott Goodyear won the race in the DP Brumos Porsche Fabcar. |

The program provides affordable, single-event physical damage insurance for vehicles used in PCA high-performance driving schools. Since its inception, many PCA enthusiasts have taken advantage of the PCA HPDE Insurance Program, and experienced it’s ease, affordability, and outstanding customer service. Although the program already provides a fantastic solution for PCA enthusiasts who participate in five events or less per year, we’ve listened to our customers and are expanding our offerings in 2011 to meet the needs of enthusiasts that are more active in the hobby. Last February proud Porsche owners from several regions of the Porsche Club of America brought over fifty concours quality cars to display at the first annual Indoor Winter Concours held in the beautiful 50,000 square foot facility at Porsche of the Village in Cincinnati. 2011 Version of the World’s Most Successful GT Race Car Debut at
Porsche “Night of Champions”
Stuttgart –December 12 -- The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR takes off into the new
motorsport season with significant modifications. The 2011 version of the world’s most
successful GT race car celebrated its international premiere at the “Night of Champions”
party held at the R&D Center in Weissach to mark the end of the 2010 motorsport
season. Priority in the further development of the GT3 RSR was given to the newly
designed aerodynamics at the front and rear, changes to the suspension kinematics and
to the engine.
The 4.0-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine now delivers 455 hp (355 kW) at 7,800 revs, five
horsepower more than its predecessor. The power increase results from an engine
management system which adapts even better to different fuel grades, as well as a
redesigned exhaust system and a modified air intake housing. Moreover, the drivability
of the famously efficient engine has undergone further improvements. Maximum revs
remain unchanged at 9,400 rpm.
Clearly visible are the modifications to the front. A new front lip provides higher
downforce at the front axle. The front wheels are now wider with the rims growing from
11 to 12 inches giving additional grip and less understeer. The position of the rear wing
and the shape of the wing mounting also underwent optimization and were adapted to
the new rear fairing with additional air outlet louvers. The rear lid was also redesigned for
optimized air ducting. Like the 911 GT3 Cup and the GT3 R, the RSR has now been
equipped with the LED rear lights taken from the latest 911 road-legal cars.
The 911 GT3 RSR joins the 911 GT3 R and the 911 GT3 Cup as the top model of
Porsche Motorsport’s product range. The successful long distance racer from Weissach
can be ordered now at a price of 410,000 Euro plus country-specific value added tax. All
2011 modifications are available as a kit for GT3 RSR cars from the 2010 season.

The first thing drivers noticed upon entering the OSU lot was that there were now cones in the traditional parking and staging areas. It had long been held among MORPCA Autocross regulars that if we are paying for the whole parking lot we might as will use the whole parking lot. Well today was the day.
The task was given to Mark Onosko to layout a course using both sides of the parking lot that is divided by the grassy esplanade. Through a very clever design that involved racing through the connector section, Mark laid out a very long and challenging course that had everyone smiling and a bit perplexed. Read More...

Instructors went through an intense class that focused on communication skills to aid them in effective communication with students. Summer finally arrived as the participants began to ready for the event. Just putting numbers on the cars brought a bit of moisture to everyone’s brow. Temperatures would eventually reach about 95 in Toledo and since Ohio’s summer had been mild up to this point it caught everyone a little off guard.
Gregg Herr with MVR laid out what appeared to be at first walk around, the same course. However, with clever use of some really offset gates set at strange angles to each other; it was a challenge to reach a flowing rhythm with this course. And this made things rather interesting. Read More...

DESPITE WEATHER, P2O SETS RECORDS
With strong summer storms descending upon Oxford Ohio at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday July 25th, the outlook for a record-setting Porsches2Oxford 2009 seemed bleak. However, before the day was over the sun came out…as did 409 Porsches from nineteen states and Canada – setting a new record for the number of cars to grace the quaint brick streets of uptown Oxford for this annual event hosted by MORPCA.
Brice Kadel, P2O Chairperson said, “The radar at 4:30 a.m. couldn’t have looked a whole lot worse. However, after all the rain at this year’s Immke show, we had come up with a contingency plan for P2O. We understand that the weather kept a lot of folks at home. However, the real story is about those who did attend. We can’t thank enough those who choose to come despite the weather. Best Car Club Award to the Porsche Club

The folks at Mid_-Ohio ,during the Vintage Grand Prix Concour event, awarded the best car club award to the Porsche Coral. Being I was the only one in attendance I accepted this award on the clubs behalf. Thanks to all who attended. There were some beautiful cars. Even the Cab in the rain with the top down. The award was based on the mark with the most cars in attendance.

Even with a small chance of rain 16 Porsches and 4 X cars made it out to the first MORPCA autocross of the season. Once again Jeff Dupler and Dave Wenger laid out a very interesting course complete with a high speed banked 180 degree turn and a full 360 degree skid pad turn.
The course began with a couple of very sharp turns that took the driver through a series of 180’s and then through a very fast section of off-set gates. The cars could build up a great deal of speed through this section that ended with banked 180 degree turn. The bank turn led into a couple more off-set gates and then into the slalom and bus stop. From the bus stop you entered quickly into the 360 degree skid pad turn. You have never heard so much tire squeal as drivers fought to keep the cars from spinning out. Read More...

What About the Club Race!!?

When I received the July issue of Die Offen Strasse the other day, I noticed there were three pages dedicated to recent autocrosses – but nothing about the spring Club Race! So here is a short bit on the event – from a driver’s point of view.
It was the first of two 15-lap sprint races planned for the day for the Red Sprint group. Six of us had qualified within a second of each other and when the green flag dropped, the fight was on. We started the race by going three-wide into turn one and spent the next 20 minutes taking every possible line around the 2.25 mile Mid Ohio circuit in a vain attempt to get into passing position on the guy in front – while trying not to let the guy behind get the advantage. Since this was a sprint race, there was no time to hang back and wait for something to happen, you had to push the issue and try to force the driver ahead into a mistake if you wanted to move up a tic on the scoring sheet. We were two and three wide everywhere. Just when I thought I had a pass made, another car would come out of nowhere and take the inside line. I would go wide to avoid contact and the car I just passed would slip back to the inside with a better line into the next turn. It was a six-car drag race down the back straight, through thunder valley and back across the start finish. Laps clicked by with no obvious leader of the pack. It didn’t matter what position I was fighting for, I just wanted the next one. We pushed the envelope on every lap with threshold braking and tires squealing through the turns. Read More...

Hosted by Mid-Ohio Region PCA, the fifth annual Porsches2Oxford event is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th. In 2008, P2O attracted 396 cars from 17 states and 3 Canadian provinces. This year, P2O is hoping to attract upwards of 500 cars to Oxford, Ohio.
Porsches2Oxford, which was the brainchild of Bill and MaryLynn Roe, began seven years ago as Porsches2Pinckney (Michigan) – as an excuse for a group of Porsche-lovers to get together for a drive to dinner. After two years in Pinckney, the event was moved to Oxford. As the home of Miami University, Oxford has the infrastructure to handle one of the fastest growing and largest Porsche-only, one day events in the country. With its quaint brick streets, bandshell, shops and boutiques, overnight accommodations, and plenty of restaurants and watering holes for every taste and budget, Oxford is the perfect venue for a nationally-recognized Porsche event.

It’s 6:00 a.m. on Saturday July 26,, 2008…and the sun is just beginning to reflect off the quaint brick streets of uptown Oxford, Ohio. Soon the early morning silence would be broken by the unique sound of hundreds of German engines -- as Porsches of all models, years, and colors invade this unique college town (the home of Miami University) located in the southwest corner of Ohio.
By 6:15 a.m., there are already more than seventy cars parked in place. Porsches2Oxford (P2O) has officially begun. Among the early arrivals are a yellow Carrera GT, a 1964 904 GT, a (real) 1973 911 RS, a 914/6, a soft-windowed 912 targa, and a Porsche tractor. Atlanta, June 25, 2008 – New engines, all-wheel-drive systems, transmissions, interior
features and exterior cues will mark the evolutionary advances of the new 2009 Porsche 911
Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models upon their introduction this fall when they join the already
announced two-wheel-drive 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S.
Like the improvements to the rear-wheel-drive models, the combined changes for the
Porsche 911 Carrera 4/4S will result in enhanced performance coupled with better fuel economy
and reduced emissions.
The output of the 3.6 liter engine in the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 increases by 20
horsepower to 345 hp. The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S with its 3.8 liter engine is equally impressive,
