Hurley Haywood, winner of more endurance classics than any other driver in racing history, will return in 2012 for his 40th Rolex 24 start. Winning the 24 Hours of Daytona overall five times, the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times, and the 12 Hours of Sebring twice has made Haywood one of the most renowned race car drivers in the world.

Currently Vice President of Brumos Porsche, Haywood serves as Chief Driving Instructor for the Porsche Sport Driving School and the Brumos Driving Experience. Stepping down in 2008 from his full-time driving role, in 2009 Haywood co-drove the Brumos #59 Porsche Riley to an unforgettable 3rd place overall finish in the Rolex 24 behind his winning teammates in the Brumos #58 car. He closed out that season by driving the #59 to its first season win alongside Joao Barbosa.

When Brumos moved back to GRAND-AM Rolex Series GT competition in 2011, Haywood re-joined his team for another Rolex 24 run, leading the race for many laps en route to their top five finish. Brumos went on to claim the hard-fought GT Championship for 2011 and persuaded Haywood to return in 2012 for the historic 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Haywood’s lengthy list of honors includes selection to the Florida Sports Hall of Fame and to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. In 2010 he was inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame and Watkins Glen’s prestigious ‘Legends of the Glen’. He would like nothing better than to mark his 40th Daytona 24 start with his 7th class victory, further securing his place in racing history.
